Mariana joined Infarmed in 2002 as a quality assessor for Human Medicines, transitioning in 2003 to the Medical Devices field — an area of expertise she has specialized in ever since. Throughout her tenure, she has held strategic roles, including Advisor to the Executive Board.
Currently, she has a role of Project Manager and Assessor at the Health Products Directorate, while supporting other departments, such as the Regulatory and Scientific Advice Office.
A key representative for INFARMED, Mariana is an active member of the MDCG, co-chairing the MDCG NET WG and the MDCG Task Force on Breakthrough Technology. She also contributes to the AI Board subgroup on MDR/IVDR interplay.
Internationally, she represents EU delegations within the IMDRF subgroups for Personalized Medical Devices and AI/ML Medical Devices."
