Jonathan Kendler is a leading expert in medical device human factors engineering and user interface design. With over 20 years of experience, he specializes in creating safe and intuitive user interfaces for a wide array of critical medical devices, including dialysis machines, patient monitors, infusion pumps, and glucose monitors.
Jonathan is a prominent voice in the field, having co-authored the essential industry texts, “Usability Testing of Medical Devices” and “Designing for Safe Use.” He is also a seasoned educator who has taught graduate-level courses at Tufts University and delivered usability engineering workshops to professional audiences internationally.
His career includes co-founding the successful consultancy Wiklund Research & Design, which was acquired by UL (Underwriters Laboratories). At UL, he went on to lead key international teams, including the European usability engineering group. In 2018, Jonathan founded Curiolis, Inc., a design and usability engineering studio dedicated to advancing medical technology development.
