Oscar Freyer is a medical doctor and researcher with a focus on the safety and security of healthcare technologies. After graduating from Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, he shifted his focus to digital health, combining clinical training with expertise in entrepreneurship, innovation, cybersecurity, and regulation. As a Research Associate and doctoral candidate at the Else Kröner Fresenius Center for Digital Health at TU Dresden, he explores regulatory strategies to manage risks across AI, connected medical devices, and digital health applications. He serves as the Scientific and Technical Manager of the EU Horizon Project CYMEDSEC, which aims to strengthen cybersecurity in networked medical devices. His research is published in leading journals such as npj Digital Medicine, The Lancet Digital Health, and Nature Medicine.
